Writer Leaks Miles Morales' Story in Across the Spider-Verse

The writer of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) Chris Miller is outspoken about Miles Morales' journey in the second film of the Spider-Verse saga. Miller explained that the sequel will continue the story of Miles Morales' (Shameik Moore) adolescence after becoming Spider-Man in the first film. He is now more confident with his superpowers and ready to continue his adventures as Spider-Man.
"Miles is going through various phases in his life. Now he has confidence, but he's starting to figure out his place in this world," Miller said as reported by Screen Rant, Thursday (11/24).
"He feels ready for the next challenge. He wants to get out of the nest," he continued.
Miles Morales' adolescence is closely related to his responsibilities as Spider-Man. He must again deal with the criminals who roam around Brooklyn.
On the other hand, Miles will also return to dealing with multijagat issues like the first movie. The writer also ensures that Morales will adventure into various universes, including Spider Gwen's (Hailee Steinfeld).
"He has to figure out who he is and who and what is important in his life," Miller said.
"As a teenager, those are big questions to ask yourself. And this journey will be presented in a multidimensional superhero story on a grand scale," he continued.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a sequel to Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018), an animated film about the spider superhero that was a hit at the time of its release.
The first movie in the Spider-Verse saga earned US$375.5 million. Into the Spider-Verse also won 82 awards, including one 2019 Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film.
In this sequel, a number of characters from the first film will return to join Miles Morales and Spider Gwen. Some of them are Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), to Jefferson Davis (Brian Tyree Henry).
In addition, this movie will also have new Spider-Man characters from other universes. Call it Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) and Hobart Brown aka Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya).
The film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos with Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson. Meanwhile, the screenplay for Across the Spider-Verse was written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham.
In addition to Across the Spider-Verse, Sony Pictures Animation will also develop a third film titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse and a spin-off focusing on one of the female characters.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is scheduled to air on June 2, 2023.
